If the enrollment page shows a message that iCloud Private Relay is on, here's what that means and how to turn it off so you can set up or update your device on the company network.
For Employees · Apple devicesiCloud Private Relay is an Apple privacy feature that hides your address by sending your traffic through Apple's servers first. That's fine day‑to‑day — but it makes the company network see you as coming from Apple instead of the office, so setting up or updating your work Wi‑Fi may not work until you turn it off.
Go to Settings → Wi‑Fi and make sure you're connected to the company Wi‑Fi.
Tap the little ⓘ (info) button to the right of the network name.
Switch it off. That turns Private Relay off for this Wi‑Fi only — it stays on everywhere else.
Go back and refresh the page. The Private Relay message should be gone and your devices/options will load.
System Settings → Wi‑Fi, connected to the company network.
Click Details… next to the network name.
Un‑tick it, then reload the enrollment page.
If you'd rather switch Private Relay off entirely instead of per‑network:
Once your device is enrolled and connected, you can switch Private Relay back on if you like — it only needs to be off while you set up or update the company Wi‑Fi profile.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| I don't see "Limit IP Address Tracking." | Your device may not have Private Relay on — you can ignore the message and continue. Make sure you're on the company Wi‑Fi, not cellular. |
| Do I have to leave it off forever? | No — only while enrolling or updating your Wi‑Fi profile. Turn it back on after. |
| It's a work phone with a VPN. | A personal VPN can cause the same thing. Disconnect it on the company network, then reload the page. |
